Japanese Ambassador Endo Kazuya said on Wednesday’s commemoration of the 83rd anniversary of “Araw ng Kagitingan” that Japan will strengthen the bond with Philippines under President Marcos.
Kazuya said, today Japan and the Philippines has reached an unprecedented level of friendship and cooperation under the present leadership.
“I’m deeply committed to exerting all my humble efforts to ensure that this historic occasion further strengthen the bond between our nations, together with all the partners and friends present here today,” Kazuya said in his speech.
He pointed out that Japan, the Philippines and the United States, once divided by conflict now stand united as allies and partners. “We are not only committed to be working closely, bilaterally, but also to deepening our trilateral cooperation,” Kazuya added.
Bataan Gov. Joet Garcia said the bravery of American and Filipino soldiers who defended democracy in the last World War will remain “living treasures” in our hearts. With this, he said, financial and medical assistance to our veterans will continue. “Makikita natin ang kagitingan ng ating mga sundalong nakipagdigma bilang sandigan ng tinatamasa nating kaunlaran,” Garcia added.
